OUR STORY

High N Tight came together in this beautiful organic way. Scott (guitar) and Chuck (Drums) had a band for several years and were looking for something new after the pandemic hit. A mutual friend suggested they get together with Jason (keyboards). They played with him on Scott's deck and instantly saw how cool and talented he is. Joe (Bass), is married to Jason's cousin and came over to jam at Jason's house one day. All of these early get togethers were happening outside because this was late 2020/early 2021. Joe shows up for this jam with a 3/4 size kids bass...he hadn't been playing much recently...and just tore it up. We knew they had the makings of something cool. We started playing together a little more, actually got inside to Scott's basement a few times. As the spring of 2021 came around they reached out to Job Grotsky (saxophone), who is a former touring musician and lives right across the street from Chuck. Scott and Gigi knew each other socially for years, and he called and invited Gigi and Job to jam on his deck. Gigi brought some music for a few songs she had done in past past, and one of those was Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. We started playing that song and it all just came together! The chemistry was so good, we could really feel it, and we knew we had something special. Joe showed up to our second practice with a new bass, and we were off and running. Soon after that, Ali True (true balance studio) let us practice in the basement of her studio, so that gave us a place to play and really start to gel as band.
